When You Face a Giant Problem

1. Keep cool.

2. Be open to God's creative possibilities.

3. Maintain a humbly confident attitude.

4. Refuse to be discouraged.

5. Use your head.

6. Expect the best -- but be prepared for the worst.

7. Trust God to see you through.

8. Believe the Lord will give you new ideas and solutions.

9. Seize the opportunities that come - for they surely will.

10. Remember that no problem is too big for almighty God.

Nothing can keep you down if you let the Lord lift you up. The Bible is filled with records of victory over seemingly impossible odds. They might be summed up in the testimony of Paul, who said, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed" (II Corinthians 4: 8-9). William Barclay translates those words in this striking fashion:

We are under pressure on every side, but never without a way out. We are at our wit's end, but never at our hope's end. We are pursued by men, but never abandoned by God. We are knocked down, but never knocked out.

There is a way through or over or around whatever problem looms before you. Never let a difficulty get you down. If it does, trust the good Lord to lift you to new heights.

Matthew 17:20-21, Jesus told his disciples, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'"
